Propigated on the farm here in Quantico Village, Hebron, this cultivar does well on the Shore. Baby plants are kept outdoors & are already hardened off; ready for the outdoors.
 
Angustifolia, velvety, dark purple-blue flowers are the hallmark of Lavender ‘Royal Velvet’, as are its rich fragrance and speedy growth habit. Tall, waving flower spikes last and last, and will bloom a second time after a mid-season harvest. Deer resistant, ‘Royal Velvet’s strong scent attracts plentiful bees and butterflies. Excellent for culinary, cutting and drying. A bit finicky to grow in our area, the extra work is worth the reward of dark blue buds and beautiful flavor.
